Life 101 – Storycorps: Danny & Annie

Storycorps allows Americans of all backgrounds to record, share, and preserve the stories of our lives. In the past 7 years, it has collected and archived more than 30,000 interviews including the story of Danny & Annie. These two New Yorkers tell the story of their 27-year romance: “These remarkable Brooklynites personify the eloquence, grace, and poetry that can be found in the voices of everyday people when we take the time to listen.” I can’t decide which of Danny’s quotes is my favorite. Is it: “Being married is like a color television set, you never want to go back to black and white.” Or “The only thing I have to give you is a poor gift, and it’s myself.” Decide for yourself.
