American Fun – Symphony Season

One of the greatest things about living in or near a city is the easy access to all things cultural. Though the end of the holiday weekend brings some tears (back to school, end of summer, no more sno-cone stands, etc…), fall is the beginning of the symphony season. Tickets are sometimes pricey, but I’ve just discovered the secret to saving some cash: open rehearsals. The New York Philharmonic season begins on September 22 and tickets are $18 each for one of their many open rehearsals. And here’s my favorite piece of all time, Aaron Copland’s Hoedown. I can already feel myself getting more cultured.
