American Fun – Getting Outside

Get outside and enjoy 2010!

The National Wildlife Federation is encouraging families to make a resolution to spend more time outside in 2010. Make the “be out there resolution” and receive the “know, go, and grow” toolkit with facts, fun tips, and tools to help you and your kids get outdoors more. Did you know that today’s kids spend only 4 to 7 minutes outdoors per day? That’s a huge difference from when I grew up and was outside until called in for dinner. The proven benefits of interacting with nature include better eyesight, better fitness (and less fatness), better grades, and lower levels of stress and depression. Get out there, and enjoy 2010!
