Life 101 – Time for Fun

Scott Bruce and BarbaraYou’ve heard the saying, “Time heals all wounds.” This time last year I was recovering from back surgery and couldn’t take my yearly ski trip with Scott and our pal Barbara Corcoran to #Sundance. As I recovered in bed, I shook off the feeling that I’d never ski again by making my mantra a quote from Buddha: “Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn’t learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn’t learn a little, at least we didn’t get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn’t die; so let us all be thankful.” See the joy in our faces at the FUN we had this year? So, yes, time does heal wounds. But during our adventure, I made note of a blind skier, a legless skier, an armless skier, and I realized that it’s not just time that heals wounds, it’s also determination. As you face the mountains in your life, I give you this Life 101 mantra: “I am too positive to be doubtful, too optimistic to be fearful, and too determined to be defeated.”
